Sensible Sites ("we", "us") builds and hosts websites for small businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers SensibleSites.net, our client portal, our email, and the services we provide. We are based in New Hampshire, USA.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, business name, email address and phone number.
- Website content you provide for your site, such as text, photos, logos, hours and service details.
- Change requests you send us by email, text or the client portal, and our replies.
- Portal sign-in: when you sign in to the client portal, we email a one-time sign-in link to your address and keep a record of the sign-in.
- Billing: payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe, once available). We do not see or store your full card number.
- Website analytics: our site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites. It gives us totals such as page views.
- Public business information: for outreach, we may use business contact details that are publicly available, such as a business's website, published email address or business listing.
How we use information
- To build, host, update and support your website.
- To make the changes you ask for, send you a preview link, and publish the change once you approve it.
- To sign you in to the client portal and keep your account secure.
- To bill you and manage your subscription.
- To reply to your messages and send service notices.
- To contact businesses that may want our services (see "Outreach email" below).
Outreach email
We may email businesses using publicly available business contact information to offer our services. Every outreach email tells you how to opt out, and we honor opt-out requests promptly, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. To opt out at any time, reply to any of our emails or write to [email protected].
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed:
- Cloudflare, which hosts our websites and client sites and provides our website analytics.
- Google Workspace and Zoho Mail, which provide our company email.
- Stripe (once available), which processes payments.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
Google user data
Our internal mail tool uses Google APIs only to send and read email in our own company mailboxes. Sensible Sites' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not share or sell Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep information
We keep client information while you are a client and for as long as we reasonably need it afterward for records, billing and legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we need to keep it by law.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), emailed sign-in links instead of shared passwords, and reputable service providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Opt out of outreach email at any time.
- Cancel your service at any time.

Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we will notify clients by email.
